Thanks foghog. Thanks Greta.
Those fossils were given to me as gifts. I was also given a few shark teeth as well one of them is huge. There is a place close by where I go fossil hunting, only I have never found a snail fossil there yet, just indents of vegetation and some clam shells and some really wierd fossils like some sort of large cray fish. I have been digging on the lowest level of this area, It is slate rock, and the cliff goes up really, really high so it facinates me that at one time the water was so high in that area. Where I dig must be the oldest area, if I could I would love to get up further on this cliff to see what I could find but it would be impossible. If I did find a snail fossil there it would have to be a water snail. It is right near the end of the Humber River where the Humber goes into Lake Ontario here in Toronto and there is only a certian time of year that the water is low enough to fossil hunt. It's great fun. Thanks for checking these out and commenting Vallery

Vallery's photo are of real fossils ( ammonites ) but 4sticks pic is not of a real mollusk. It was probably man-made as a tourist attraction, although there are a large number of genuine fossils to be found in Morocco and neighboring Western Sahara. Today the Nautilus is the only remaining living relative of the Ammonites, and their existence s threatened by over-fishing ( mostly used in jewelry trade ).
