Hello, I live in California, and we have a lot of garden snails around here. I was wondering if there is any specific information about Helix Aspersa snails I should know, like what to feed them, how long to wait before cleaning the tank, etc.
Thanks -Colin

Hi colinrsmall, welcome to the forum. I keep aspersas too, and a good general guide can be found here: www.petsnails.co.uk/care/intro.htmlThe only things you have to keep in mind are that since aspersas are smaller than GALS, you do not need as big a tank as is recommended. Also, unlike GALS, aspersas are not native to tropical or semi-tropical areas, so you will not need a heat mat. Using a heat mat will make it way too hot for your aspersas, so you can ignore anything about heat mats at that link. Otherwise, I have been following those general guidelines for my aspersas and they are doing well.
