I have 2 Large GALS and they haven't laid for months since about July and it's now nearly January. Can anyone give me any reasons this may be happening? Don't worry that's only the corner of the tank! Rosie Attachments:

Don't worry that's only the corner of the tank! Rosie Hi rosiesnail. Although July seems pretty early in the year for your snails to stop laying, I wouldent be to worried at the moment as were in hybernation season for most snails, so you cant expect them to be laying at the moment. Were your snails deprived of hybernation last year or given a shorter hybernation period than recomended? This often has an affect on the snails sexual activity and makes them stop laying more early than adverage before their next hybernation comes. An adverage hybernation for Archachatina Marginata is anywhere from late November untill late March. Some times they can go into hybernation earlyer and come out later depending on the temperature of their enclosure, sometimes they can go into hybernation later and come out earlyer depending on the temperature of their enclosure. Its rare that they wont hybernait at all but can easily be forced not to by constantly being disturbed. Im not saying this is the case with yours, but its certainly a posibility and would easily be contributing factors if it is true of your snails. hope this helps

Thanks, well I've had them a year and they normally become more sleepy in November or October. Anyway, thanks
