Ok, remember how I said tiny has a cracked hsell? Well I kind of cracked it a tiny bit again and realised that because he's so small, his shell is paper thin! Is there any way of fixing that?

Hi Geckonator. Give him calcium and try to avoid handling him as much as possible. There isn't much else that you can do, as far as I know.

Snails are very good at fixing their shells. I know cos I rehomed 6 from a man who's young boys had got bored with them. You know what young boys are like! The snails were dropped alot, had huge cracks & dents in their shells. I've had them about 2 months, now you can't see a single dent.

I find that calcium powder that you can find in the reptile section in any pet hop, mixed with fish food flakes, and then made wet by mixing it with water is a very tasty treat that the snail loves and hardens it's shell very quickly, I did this with all of my white jade's that I bought, as they came to me very cracked and layers of their shell could almost be picked off, feeding them enough of this to cover their cuttlefish twice a week, has been very very helpful.

No. No fish food. Last time I did that it stunk my bedroom until I couldn't sleep in it. Just, no wet fish food. Plus, I think there's salt in the fishfood I get. And oil. (I own fish and an apple snail in a tank) So, I'll try to make something else, but really, no fish food.

I remember I experimented giving fish food to my snails and stunk for a week Straight. Lol unfortunately I share a room with my sis, who doesn't understand me and my snails at all.. it was actually entertaining lol.... Sorry for my rambling, this thread sort of reminded me of a past incident Geckonator, maybe you could post a pic of how tiny is doing so far, so we can see where the crack is. Agreed with jessicamartin, reptile calcium is an excellent source and I totally recommend it ;D

It keeps healing quickly then breaking for a bit. I'm not sure when it heals/breaks but I think it's when he tries to pull himself fully in his shell.

Maybe he's growing too fast for his shell or eating too much in one go. I've been told it can happen, but I don't think you can do anything about it. He should be OK.

The tank food keeps growing mould, so he's not overfed. And I found him mature.

That rules that out then. I'm afraid I've run out of ideas.
