Today I woke up to find my first snail ever, Baffbot, acting very strange. He's refusing to come out of his shell or eat. I've tried everything, but the most he does now is stays in his shell. I don't want to lose him now, I haven't had him for barely a year. If he passes, I'll let my other snails free because I'm not looking after them and nothing you can say that will change my mind. He's acting really strangely and I don't want to lose him. Please help me get through this.

Wow geckonator I know it is hard and scary I trust you are doing everything you can for Baffbot, but I don't think Baffbot would want you to give up on everyone else. They need you. vallery x

The thing with having pets is that we love and care for them but a time comes where they pass on. That's life and there's nothing we can do about it. What we can do is make sure that the time they are with us they are loved and get the attention they deserve. I can't tell you if your snail is dying but Iam sure you gave him a good loving home. Don't give up on your other snails though, they need you.

Snails can live for a very long time if the conditions are right and they are healthy, but it's no different to people, Geckonator. If I died tomorrow, it wouldn't be because I hadn't been looked after properly, any more than it would be your fault if one of your snails passed away. Please don't blame yourself!

He's a helix aspersa, and guys, you don't understand. My snails are, er, I wasn't ready for them. You know how I got my first snail? My friend chucked him on a trampoline. I picked him up and put him in a tank and I'm not looking after any of them at all.

I know this post was written a while ago but I wanted to know what happened. Sorry if he did pass away. I had 3 snails at one time during last year in May,2011. I only had my third snail I got for about a month and a half before passed. He had black skin, and died fron being old(black body ) and he was dripping like kind of sweat like. Then I lost my second snail to unknown reasons. The thing is that you have to remember that you can give them an extra few years of life if you just try harder. Living in the environment is tough for snails- They can get killed in many ways. I have had my first snail I got for 1 year and 2 months now . If you do still have your snails then try looking after them more. Feed them lettuce, grass, apples, carrots(which my snails always love)etc... Im looking to be a possible vet for ALL animals in the future. I care about snails and mine are a large part of my life. Sorry i typed so much lol.
