I just released all of my snails, and I made a poem of them.
This one is for Baffbot, my first ever snail. This is for Penelope, if she died she'd make me wail. This is for Pickels, my second at heart. This is for patches, to hold my love I'd need a cart. This is for Rainbow, rescued from the mower. This is for Big, the largest, he's like a tower. This is for Tip, the one with the broken shell, and last of all, Tiny, without him it's being in a cell.
I miss them already.
Baffbot, as usual, was the first to wake up. Followed by Rainbow and Big. Tip is waking up, but he hasn't come out yet.
This was for keeping them alive. If I'd left them in their tank, they would have died. There was mould and rotten food everywhere and I had lost the spray bottle, so no water for them.
I say my final goodbyes to them all.
It is depressing, but I had to let them go. I'm constantly worried about them because we have a pet cat.
Goodbye, my precious snails, we will meet again some day.

I think it was very big of Geckonator to admit that the best thing for his snails was to let them go. It was very selfless.

She* =P I got a new snail, I'm more prepared now, I feed him fresh sweet potato daily and mist his tank. His shell is a bit worrying though. He seems to have lost a lot of his lip, when he's sitting at the surface, still in his shell, he's hanging out slightly. Cuttle to the rescue! His name is Zephyr, but I like it pronounced Zephier, not Zepher, not sure why, I just do. He's a vineyard snail. Is it normal for them to be 1 cm long?
