Picked up some really nice thick sticks in the park today, they were for my slugs, but I can spare a few for my snails But was wondering whether I have to clean the branches first or something?? Thanks!

Some folk bake the sticks in the oven under a low heat, but some boiling water should do the trick

dont think my partner would let me put them in the oven, he'd probably have a fit or something XD
but boiling water I can do, he cant complain about that, though he'd probably moan that the kettle is too near the sticks or something LOL!
Thanks! ;D

Is baking the sticks or cleaning them with boiling water to get rid of bugs or something? I have never done this I just put the sticks in their terrariums. vallery

It's to get rid of parasites and disease. I always boil the things I put in there. It's so nice and clean that little plants, not spores I checked that a thousand times, have started growing!
