I was wondering if anyone knows the legalities of sending snails from the UK to Canada. I have been looking for cepaeas without bands in Canada but no response the only response I have received is from UK. I don't know any rules of legalities. I would really appreciate your help even help finding out how to find unbanded cepaeas in Canada if they can't come from UK. Thank You vallery

The best thing to do would probably be to contact the Canadian Food Inspection Agency directly. They deal with food, plants, animals etc. and I believe they are the people who decide what is and isn't allowed and whether you need permits. This is their website: www.inspection.gc.caIt's possible that you may need a plant protection permit but honestly I'm not sure - if you give the Inspection Agency a call or email, they should be able to give you a more definitive answer than any of us
