The mating pair above has their eggs hatching now! The parents are the two winner snails of the comp, coincidentally. They will be up for grabs when spring comes should anyone be interested. Trade is also possible. But... more of that later in the spring. I'll get better pics once the bitties have crawled their way up from the soil. This little guy is the first I saw sliming out of the nest but he wasn't up for good photos once picked up.

Lovely cepaeas. Welcome to the forums! I'm tentatively thrilled as I think I may have albino cepaea babies! There's a bunch of babes from the second egg batch which have completely pale white tentacles whilst most of them have slightly darker tentacles that the body. This is how I noticed the albinism in my deroceras slugs at first, and they remain white with only the irises showing up as black dots. Ooh if I get albino cepaeas as well...

linkOh my goodness. The yellow fellow is laying her THIRD batch of eggs.. and each batch has been pretty big, like 30-50 eggs. I didn't count the exact number but there's a lot more of cepaea babies than aspersas. Kindergarten keeps growing... thankfully these guys can be released if they don't find an adoption home. Can't get the image link for some reason... my phone updated to Jelly Bean today and some functions have changed. But there she is laying eggs.

Great Tips Shaydeesnail , Educational. Thank You. I didn't know all of this information. I believe I found a few Vindobonensis. They didn't survive though. I believe I found them here as I have a Polish/Ukrainian village right next to the village I live in and they have tons of vegetable markets there. I am hoping to find more by going to that village in spring. vallery

Hi Everyone , Here are some pictures of my cepaeas on there cucumber sticks which was shaydeesnails first Shaydee's Cepaea Tips Column. Thank You bronwen , Do you plan to get any cepaea species? Or just own Gary and Doug (makes me smile thinking of those two). (Just modified: Just checked out your pictures thread and saw your two A. marginata ovum beigies, do you have more species of snails you'll be posting on your pictures thread?)If you do get any cepaeas we would all love to see some pictures of them posted on this thread. They are very easy to care for and come in so many colors. I bet shaydeesnails Tip from her Cepaea Tip column on this thread about the cucumber sticks works for pretty much all snails. You should try it with Gary and Doug. vallery

Thank You so much aimee , That is s great drawing! I just love how you have the snails head coming up into the drawing like that. The composition is excellent, and the shell sketch is great too, really well done. I have such a tough time trying to sketch the cepaea shells. Oxychilus alliarus are so much easier because they are so flat. I really love this drawing aimee. Thank You so much. I hope you will post more soon. vallery x

Here are a few photos of one of my Yellow morph unbanded cepaea hortensis from England. There is a problem with his shell. He is the only one in the tank with this problem. Would anyone know what is wrong or if there is a solution? Thank You This is a pic of the top of his shell page 7. The next pic shows the bottom which is not as effected page 8. Vallery Attachments:
