Hi, I just had an idea a few months ago and am willing to share the idea.
If you have a passed snail, clean out his shell as much as you can and bury the body. After that, fill his shell with fertiliser and soil. Then, after that, plant his favourite food flower in his shell and watch it grow. For instance, if he loved clover, plant a clover and grow it. If it was dandilion, plant that. When the shell starts cracking(If, if it's a small plant), plant it in a pot and grow it to feed your other snails. Then while your snailie is munching on cucumbers in the sky, he can also be helping your other snails. It's a very touching thought. Or, you can keep the flower until it dies.

geckonator this is such a wonderful Idea. With the passing of my little Oxy Blue who loved clover, I am going to scour my backyard to try to find a sprig if clover in hope to find on with a four leaf clover on it. I am going to get a little pot and do as you suggested and lay his shell on the surface of the soil with the clover planted in his shell and perhaps some planted around his shell and write his name on the little pot. I will set it in my window sill until I feel comfortable enough to bury his shell in the pot and place it in his tank buried up to the part where his name is and make sure the pot is place were his name is visible. Thank You for such a helpful solution, I was torn between what to do and this has helped me a great deal. vallery x
