I find that watching my snails is intensely relaxing, probably in a similar way to people who enjoy watching pet fish.
Anyway, does anyone find they crave watching their snailies when you're either upset or ill, or just feeling stressed out?
Having just woken up from some really terrifying nightmares, right now I just want to watch the snails munch for a few hours!

Oh yes. They are my Zen masters. I love just watching them do their thing.

For sure, I had a tootchache/sinus hurty feeling all weekend and brought some snails in the bathroom with me and ran the shower to steam the place up. My face and snails were both much happier! They are soothing indeed.

When I kept snails, they were very calming. I get nightmares where I feel everything, and mostly get nightmares, no good dreams for me! When I had my snails, I woke up nearly screaming and I just watched them. (Partly because I thought they were gonna turn into huge monsters or something xD) Later that day I was still a bit freaked out, but they actually really help. I just thought of something, lol...
Teacher: Why do you not have your homework? Me: I was watching my snails. Teacher: That is no excuse! Me: They calm me. -Proceeds to walk away, holding snail in hand- PERFECT CALMING SENSATION IN SCHOOL. Seriously, though, they are quite calming.

I totally agree ahah They are just so calm and slow and ..chiiiiiiilled I think they make a great school pet so long as they are handled with supervision! I can imagine an upset child could get a lot out of making friends with a pet snail.

I agree, I get so fascinated by Dave's every move - slooooow move, that is - that I forget anything else that might be stressing me!
