Hi there , can anyone who keeps snails give me some feedback on this design for a snail enclosure? It's for a school project and as no one I know knows anything about snails , I'm wondering if you wonderful guys out there can help. I just need some general comments , suggestions ect. Thanks so much. P.S The fence around the outside would be made of toothpicks, and the white house is a feeder on top and a shelter in the bottom. Attachments:

Toothpicks can soak up the water (you will need to spray the enclosure once a day) and will be prone to rot. They are also quite fragile and will be difficult to clean (snails are messy). You will also need a roof on your enclosure otherwise your snails will be going walk abouts across the classroom. It might be better for you to buy a pre-made enclosure and design the inside of it?

Thanks!! we only put our snails in yesterday, and you're right about then escaping. I'm considering putting a mesh over the top.

Is this their housing 24/7?

I would also consider a pre-made enclosure as well from a pet shop. I am not sure what glue you may have used for the toothpicks it could be very harmful to your pets if they have slimed on it.
