Project Granny Snail, too, I just needed a shorter word for the header. I thought it would be interesting to study how our dear pets age. How their looks and behaviour changes as natural end of lifespan nears. I've been thinking of this as my Arions are closing the end. I've really seen the aging process in them, how they get weak and their bodies actually cease repairing damage so they get all sort of lesions and what looks like cancerous changes in my eyes. I'm gonna take pics to document it now, just a shame I didn't think of it earlier! So please, if you'd like, post your stories and photos of aging snails and slugs here. It should become an interesting thread showing the natural aging process that almost never is seen in the wild as older and weaker snails get eaten. Maybe together we can figure out the best foods and conditions etc for granny gastropods, to make their last months/weeks as comfortable as possible. Maybe even see if their lives can be extended with diet changes etc. Anything about gastropod old age, really.
