These are my beautiful children The reticulattas I first got (they should be around 7 or 8 months now) These are my albino margies after a bath And this is my papyracea (I though it was marginata but it is archachatina papyracea acording to the breeder)

Nice snails, the albino marginata look to be fulica though.

Hi motorheadbanger , All of your children are very lovely. I love the white skin toned are they considered albino? I don't have any of these species of snails. I love them though they are beautiful. vallery

Guys, all of the species I have written are species according to the breeder. I am not very well informed. Thanks, Vallery and Kevin, for the compliments. I'm a really proud father to these wonderful creatures!

Gorgeous snails. The margies are defo not margies thou. You see your papyracea has a rounded shell tip (apex), all archachatina snails, including archachatina marginata have a rounded apex where as all achatina species have a pointed apex. They look like achatina fulica to me but still they are lovely! They all look very healthy.

Yes your margie are definitely albino fulica (white jade) not margies. Either: a. the breeder had just assumed albino snails were margies not knowing much themselves. b. they were sold the parents as margies by an unscrupulous breeder (margies are worth more) c. they were an unscrupulous breeder. either way they look extremely healthy and good looking jades, so you did alright . Other than the rounded tip the thing to look for is a raised v on the tail. a sort of crimped v and a flat top, if you look closely at your papyracea you should be able to see it. these are albino margies: petsnails.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=classifieds&action=display&thread=12312You can see it on some of the babies (especially 2) (the reason it's difficult to see on the others is due to the angle) and scroll down the parents to Fenrir you can see the v and the flattening on the tail

Beautiful snailies! Really good shells, no scratches or anything. And yeah, you can see the differences between Archachatinas and Achatinas really well comparing the mentioned bits. But regardless what species they are they're handsome big guys. Achatina achatina aka tiger snails have that v-shape on their tails btw. Probably the only Achatina species that has it. Good thing to know if you encounter them! It's the biggest species and adorable in their clumsiness, I highly recommend adding some to the collection. The babies in particular look funny and a bit daft compared to less massive species.
