I've been observing the different behaviours of the different species I have, how they interact with humans and above all, how they interact with others of their own kind outside of mating. Some species are mostly neutral, some might show signs of aggression and others are gentle and kind. I'm curious what have you observed in the species you have? It'd be cool to do a bit of communal research and document observations here, in as much detail and depth of you like. Both objectively and subjectively, neutral observation of animal behaviour and your own interpretation of what's going on there! I'm going to be writing about H.aspersa, A.vulgaris, L.maximus and D.invadens to begin with.

Good idea I definitely notice the differences in personalities in my snails. Goku, my largest fulica, is very outgoing and active. My smaller snails are often a bit more shy, but I get the to socialise with each other over tanktop picnics!

The most remarkable is my A. reticulata's behaviour. They are albino (not sure if this applies to normal skinned retics) and the least shy snails I've ever encountered. And they actually seem to like beeing stroked on their "neck" with a finger; they respond as if it is another snail hugging them, lifting their head against the finger (like before mating, but they don't extend their private parts). I've not seen this in any other specie.

I've heard a lot about reticulatas being very active, social and happily handled. I assume the same is true for all colours- your post just reminded me that I've been wanting a pair for a while! I can only seem to find albinos though!
