Yep they should be able to. I dont know whether you'd get albinos out of them though, someone posted about it on the breeding board I think?

I have an albino margie, with pink apex and an orange collumella, it is a crossbreed ( suturalis-ovum)? He can cross with normal ovum?

Because he could be infertile...

theres no reason why he should be infertile

I'm not sure a margie having a pinkish spire guarantees it is a crossbreed, certainly possible, perhaps even likely in this case if you have reason to believe it may be. Normal marginata can have a pink spire.

theres no reason why he should be infertile I thought that when you crossbreed two different species ( or suturalis isn´t a different specie, just a different subespecie?), the babies that result from that, could be infertile. About your answer Paul, I´m not sure now, if it is indeed a crossbreed, once that normal ovum can have a pink apex too ( according to what you said)...

Because he could be infertile... If you mean because some crossbreeds can be infertile, we're not sure this is the case in snails as a whole, but certainly in crossbreeding between variants that's no problem if they can physically manage it. The variants are standardised differences of appearance by location really. It's like brown stick insects from one area, mating with smaller green ones from a different area. Both the same species, but we call them different names because in one area they tend to be greener and smaller than the other area.

suturalis, ovum and var. marginata are all the same species just different sub-species so they have no problem breeding with eachother, different species have trouble cross breeding but not sub-species

yeah actual hybrids (the product of two different species) are usually infertile.
but the margie variants are hardly different at all.
