I'm pretty sure they're not Archachatina. As you mention, the apex should be more rounded, and their tails should have a V-shape on them. The line they have from their tentacles to the shell: I've only seen that in Achatina immaculata, but their shell colour and pattern I've never seen in that specie. Their shells remind me of Achatina albopicta or reticulata, but the line on the bodies don't match. Hoppefully someone can be of more help.

How strange. My albopictas had similar markings when they were much smaller, but got their darker "grown up" stripes before they got to that size... My albopictas do have a slight line on the body like that, but their skin is much more reddish in colour. It would be possible for them to be a lighter variant, but I doubt it. :S

Updated album with darkest and lightest columella of the 4, and some shots of the back end. There is a ridge but very slight nowhere near as prominent as what's on my tigers, but ive never seen an archachatina in real life before so unsure.

im sorry to say im 100% sure they're not margies. I'm afraid i can't tell you what they are though. lovely looking patterns however! perhaps contact the seller ask for more details to try and figure it out. they could be pale retics maybe? i'm not sure. This is the second time recently someone has been missold other snails as margies. if it's a well known seller perhaps they should be named? (after first checking it's not an honest mistake) as it's not fair for people to pay more for something they're not expecting.

Check with the seller first though they may have put the wrong snails in the wrong parcel.

They appear to have a reddish columella from those pics? that would make them immacs. A picture of the adult snails if possible could help confirm they're identification.

Yeah I think I agree with immaculata... They are lovely, shame they aren't what you were expecting though!

They were sold to her as ovum apparently. I politely pointed out the differences between achatina and archachatina.

Is it Fulica from ebay? I noticed they used my beige ovum pic, and the pic of my light tiger as the 'babies'

Has the seller got back to you? I'm curious to know if it was an accident- which is usually the more expensive snail, marginata or immaculata?

Immacs are cheaper, about £3-£5 each whereas for Ovums £5-£8

It was fulica99, she said she had been sold the immacs as ovum and I guess she had never checked. She said she would give me a refund but didn't give me any reason to believe she would be changing her listings. I'll watch for a week and if she hasn't changed the listings I'll send a message to the eBay gods. I got four for £2.20 which was a bargin even for immacs but I asked for my money back as I didn't get what I was expecting, and I'm surprised how gutted I am haha!

They are pretty There are quite often mix ups, but it's understandable considering the vast variety! Just have an excuse to buy more now!

the only thing i can work out after checking tank is i have 2 sutralis, would these have cross bred? i would like to know id on my babies,as i have another 26 to sell, and i do not want to advertise them till i know exactly what species they are to avoid mix ups

Can you post pics of them here and we can help determine the exact species? Especially the tip of the shell, the snail's tail's topside and the aperture should be fully visible in the pics, along with the whole shell of course, to get best ID.

Achatina and Archachatina species cannot crossbreed, they lay (the species that do) completely different sized eggs.
