I found this on the shell of one of my baby Achatina reticulata albino. I think I killed it before I got pictures of it: Enlargement 200x: The pictures are taken with my USB-microscope. This worm-like thing was less than 1cm long.

I have still no idea what it is. But to the never ending story of unwanted creatures in snail enclosures, I'll add something called whiteworms. They are used as food for aquarium fish, live in wet soil and eat almost anything (like leftover food, vegetables and snail poo). Actually, snail keepers could sell off springtails to reptile owners and whiteworms to aquarists, and make some extra money :-)

I searched for land snail parasites and worms only there are so many and most seem to be illustrated or in black and white. Sorry I couldn't help. vallery
