This is a photo of John. He is the first of two Asian Tramp snails I found outside. I also have another snail which I am unsure of the species. My dilemma however is that John keeps making this odd face.. Both he and Cyclone (the other Asian Tramp snail) sometimes have a light bump protruding from between their eyes vertically. In addition as you can see in the picture, the eyes are bent in a seemingly unnatural way. Is this a sign of illness? If so, how can it be treated? Attachments:

John seems to be doing well... I was on vacation for a few days after the picture was taken and found him nestled at the top of his container right at the base of his shell, as if he where about to come out any second. He is currently out of his shell and appears to be munching on the lettus I put him on...

Hi sciencelover5 Maybe he was sleeping for a while. I have seen some of my snails sleep like that with their eye stalks out and drooping. It is funny when they do this on the side of the tank and their eye stalks are hanging backwards ;D. They are always fine just snoozing or resting. I would love to see some more photos of John and Cyclone. I have never seen pictures of Asian Tramp snails before. I don't know if there are any in the picture thread. It would be great if you would start a picture thread of them vallery

I've seen the kind of bulb on a few aspersas before. I thought it might be an egg but neither laid any as far as I can remember. It fluctuated between visible bulb and normal, and eventually went away on its own. The snails lived happily a good while after that, and died of other, unrelated causes.
