Hey My two albino reticulata snails have had really bad shell growth, and they are quite lumpy and cracked. I have had them since they were very tiny, and they have ALWAYS had cuttlefish, and I sprinkle their food with calcium dust. I am really not sure why they have grown like this, can anyone help?? It looks quite normal to me. A. reticulata don't have a smooth shell structure like other Achatinidae.

Really? They look quite deformed to me, here's a close up. They both have this weird crack on their shell. Is this actually normal for this species Attachments:

I've had snails with shells a lot like this, it seems to be fairly common regardless of calcium intake. If they have a varied and nutritious diet, and the shells aren't soft or easily broken, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Some snails just seem to grow their shells like this and it doesn't seem to cause them any problems.
