Hi Everyone , Here is a [glow=red,2,300]Forum Thread[/glow] were we can show off our wee baby snails. Try to show your babies size in scale in your photos with something like your finger or on a piece of cucumber or even beside an adult of the same species. Let everyone know what species it is and any information you would like to share. If someone has already posted a species that you have you can still post yours. Hoping to see lots of cute wee babies ;D

I will start by showing some very tiny little ones. Species[glow=red,2,300] : Oxychilus alliarus.[/glow] Here are six little wee ones with my finger in the photo to show how tiny they are. They like to stick themselves to the underside of bark as in this photo. These are captivity born from some wild Oxychilus alliarus that I collected from my back yard. Later I will post a photo showing some in scale with an adult . You will probably have to click on this photo to enlarge it to see them better. vallery Attachments:

Here's another one with Beagan. I had to wet his shell since it was looking pretty pale and dry but the pictures show off his beautiful shell markings and new shell growth! Mellie82, Soo cute!!! At least it's not camera shy! Sunshine sounds like a good name for one of them

Hi mellie82 your little one is so cute ;D love to see the two of them together. Sunshine is a good name like shortie said. You could have Sunshine and Moonshine. Hi shortie Baby Bee is looking a little shy this time ;D. His markings are gorgeous. I just love that first photo with his little face sticking out eating the cucumber Id love to see more photos of him like that. That is so sweet I already posted this shot of my little Dash in the Cepaea thread but I'm going to post it on here. He is a [glow=red,2,300]yellow morph Cepaea[/glow] not sure yet if he is hortensis or nemoralis. But he is the only surviving baby of my [glow=red,2,300]England Cepaea[/glow] and he is beside one of the last two remaining adult Cepaea I got from England. vallery Attachments:

And here is little Dash the yellow morph [glow=red,2,300]England Cepaea[/glow] on his own. This photo was taken right after the one I just posted. My cousin named him Dash because of all of the tiny black marks on Dash and of course he thought it was funny to name a snail Dash. I am not sure if the dark marks will eventually disappear. My other yellow morph Cepaea had no dark marks like Dash. Vallery Attachments:

Here is a photo of UFO (named due to malacophiles thoughts that he looked like a little flying saucer). This Photo was posted in the Pleurodonte Species thread Feb 18th. He is a[glow=red,2,300] Pleurodonte isabella.[/glow] He is the only remaining baby from his clutch of eggs hatched here. The First Pleurodonte isabella came from England. They are a Barbados species. In the next photo I will show UFO one month later today. vallery Attachments:

I bought them as eggs, they are supposed to be normal fulicas but their flesh couloirs are all different I'm sure there's an albino in there, does that happen?

Hi mellie82 I'm not quite sure as I don't own any [glow=red,2,300]fulicas[/glow] but with my [glow=red,2,300]Pleurodonte isabella[/glow] I did end up with three seemingly albinos but not. One was given to me and two hatched from clutches I had. So it seemed odd to me as all the rest are dark brown and any [glow=red,2,300]Pleurodonte isabella[/glow] I have seen advertised for sale are dark brown. vallery

Thanks morningcoffee It's funny how the [glow=red,2,300]Pleuordonte isabella[/glow] are so flat when babies and the edge of their shells are really sharp which round out when they become adults. Trsrebels [glow=red,2,300]Pleurodonte margiella[/glow] stay flat with sharp edges as adults. And a big thank you for giving the okay for this Forum thread. Do you have any babies you could post? vallery

Here are some teeny tiny [glow=red,2,300]Cepaea[/glow] hatchlings ;D. Too tiny to tell what species they are hortensis or nemoralis or what color morph they will be or how many bands they will have. I am sure they will be banded captivity born from wild caught from my back yard here in Toronto, as I only have one Adult Rose Morph unbanded Ceapae hortensis and one Adult brown Morph Cepaea nemoralis left from my [glow=red,2,300]England Cepaea[/glow], and they can't mate as I am told. They are so small it is really difficult for me to get a good photo of [glow=red,2,300]Cepaea[/glow] hatchlings because my camera isn't that great. I haven't had much luck at all this past year keeping my Cepaea hatchlings alive. With hatchlings of 40 to 50 I end up with only one or two surviving. So If anyone else has some good photos of these little guys as hatchlings please post. Thanks. vallery Attachments:

And cute names to go with them too! The baby capaea are tiny! I can't wait to see their markings! Bee is starting to come out a wee bit more but he's still very shy lol! Here he is today!

Hi shortie , Little Baby Bee is really adorable. I can't get enough of his cute little face sticking out ;D. I hope to see more of Beagan as he grows. Your so lucky, he is great Hi morningcoffee , That is one sweet little guy ;D. Unfortunately there are no [glow=red,2,300]Helix aspersa[/glow] here in Toronto. I read that in British Columbia Canada there are 94 species of land snails. I think that is incredible. In Toronto hardly any. P.S. Are there many species where you live? vallery
