I've noticed this in one of my snail tanks over the last week or so (helix aspersa) The snail it appears to be coming from has laid quite a lot of eggs recently. Could this be a reason for it? She seems fine in herself & is eating normally. Just worried she may be losing too much moisture if it carries on, so trying to keep the tank damper than normal. Any ideas please?

Hi moon , I saw one post on here about a slimey snail and ness had replied about giving the snail a bath in case it came in contact with something and to watch and see how it does. (not exact words) but you could try giving your snail a bath. vallery

Thanks Vallery, I will try that. However my snail couldn't have come into contact with anything as I've had her since a baby & she was fine until she became sexually mature & began laying eggs!

Hello moon, Don't take me word for word as I haven't been looking after snails for a while, but she may just be stressed from laying eggs. I would give her a bath, just in case something was somehow brought into her tank, though.
