Hi guys Not many people seem to be posting on the forum, we need something to get a discussion going! I'm fed up of keeping refreshing the page and seeing no more snails news to feast my eyes upon! and I'm sure others think that too

I've been looking through threads from a few years ago and I've found that people used to hold snail competitions such as snail photography etc... That would be a fun thing to do if we found enough people to get involved however who would be the judges?

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who sits and refreshes. I've been thinking the same thing as you. The forum often seems dead, unfortunately. Not that I've necessarily been any great help, but it'd be nice to see more activity. I also wondered where the old competitions went. It would be cool to see them going on again. I sometimes wonder why there hasn't been one for the largest snail/slug poop.

Yeah, I don't really know much about snails themselves so I can't really post on most peoples threads as I don't have enough experience. I think the whole competition idea is good as it could bring everyone together because you don't necessarily need experience with snails anyone can join in the fun

I think competitions were stopped because people weren't managing them effectively, so people were entering but the people running the competitions weren't announcing winners. Valerie did one fairly recently that went down really well, loads of people got involved. I'd like to do one myself at some point, I think I have a good idea for one

I must say that I ´ve been quiet lately because I have so much other things to do right now. As a mother I must allso take some part to raise those kids too ;D It´s getting spring finally here in Finland and there are lots to do and I can´t be everywhere at the same time. I mostly do all my writings and surffing in the nighttime (far less interuptions ) but unfortunatelly I too must sleep a bit now and then And there are not much telling about my snails, they are all fine and most of them are still sleeping. I think that when the days are getting brighter and warmer this site should have more discussions as well. I would love to take a part in some competitions. What Vallery did was superb but I didn´t got any cepeas then so that´s why I did not take a part.

There are different timezones, though. It's only just getting into proper Autumn here and all the snailies are coming out of their hiding places. I caught one and he's still pretty active. Glad to know there's some living people still on the forum And I would also love to submit my little helix into a competition. I'd run one if it weren't for my activity on the forum.

There's a reasonable amount of posting going on and atleast now i can keep reading all the posts it used to get to the stage where in a day there were so many posts you couldn't possibly keep on top of them.
if you think this is bad you should pop over to supersnails, it used to be very active and now... well... you can see the tumbleweed. I think it's a combo of many of the snail keepers who used to post a lot having a lot to do and not many newbies joining.
