I don't think there is any chance of your pets being infected. From what I can gather, the wild snails only get infected when they come across and eat and infected rat's poop. Then, you'd probably only get infected if you ate the snail raw or undercooked, something I hope you won't be doing

As shaydeesnail says, if your snails were bought from a petshop, there is almost no chance that they are infected with lungworm. It's mainly something that affects wild snails who have ingested lungworm eggs or larvae. If you wash your hands well before and after handling any snails, and after handling anything from inside their tank (food bowl, decorations etc), and never put any snails near your lips or mouth, you will be fine. Lungworm parasite needs to be ingested or eaten to infect humans or animals. If you use good hygiene, there should be no risk from lungworm or anything else.

Unless your planning to break your snails shell over a bowl then drink the mucus that comes out, then eat his intestines, crop, stomach and anus raw then it really isn't a problem! lol
I think this very small chance of infection is a bit blown out of proportion because it makes people not take pity on wild GALS which, to be honest are a massive problem in some places.
Don't worry. Just wash hands and don't eat your snails live! LOL

Yup, this is only a problem is you plan to eat your snails alive/raw. Of course it's a good plan to wash your hands and nit lick your snails either... but even licking a snail should not pose a significant risk.
