A batch of eggs (albopicta or fulica) have developed red patches. I opened one up and there is a mostly developed snail in there, however the fluid has turned bright red. I presume that they aren't going to hatch now but does anyone know why this is? I've attached a picture.

turning red is a bad sign i would say that's the end. I was told that any bacteria that give a red colouration are animal in origin (i.e. living on or consuming animal matter) so it would suggest that the eggs are dead also keep them away from any healthy looking eggs. If they smell bad then they are definitely dead. this can happen co-incidentally but also if they get too wet i have found
