I decided to bring some Succinea putris home today, and I've made them a tank that mimics the marshy riverside that they came from. All I need now is to plant some grass seed so that they have grass to climb on. Just wondering if anyone has any general tips for their care? I have 5 adults, 2 juveniles and one baby! They are really cute, just settling in now.

I got them to breed last year, but saw no eggs and all mine died off after a while. I don't know what I did wrong. Maybe it wasn't humid enough? So no good tips from me, but I would really like to see a pic of their set up! Good luck!

Sorry to hear that! Mine are so far doing okay, however I do think they will need some grass to hide in and climb up so Ive ordered some grass seed. I have to spray them quite regularly to keep it humid enough for then, I think this will be less of a problem when the grass has grown in there. I took a photo but my phone has broken so I'll have to upload it once its been repaired. I've lined the bottom of the tank with an inch or two of stones, and filled it with water to the same level. On top of the stones there is a few inches of soil that slopes down at one side so there is a small pool of water, then I filled the pool with spaghnum moss so that none of them will drown in it, and I planted a few chunks of moss around and put a hand full of grass for them to hide in

Please keep us posted on how they do. I had some Succinea a while back. They seemed very active and happy, even mated and laid a ton of eggs. I saw a few babies, but eventually, both the young'uns and parents died. I suppose the parents could have been somewhat old, but I don't know what happened with the babies, or how many even hatched from the five clutches I found. I'd like to try keeping them again because they're so darn cute, but only if I understand their needs better.
