Hello, I'm Loraine, a 29 year old woman who lives in Nunspeet, a small village in the middle of the Netherlands. My English isn't really good, but I'll do my best to write it well. At the moment I own 24 snails, they are my hobby and sometimes I breed with them. I've breeded 1 time 'till now and I'm waiting for the next breeding. The snails which are breeding are Achatina reticulata albino, I own 5 of them by now. Next year I hope to breed with my 3 Achatina achatina blackfoot. I also own Achatina fulica (all the 4 colours) and Caracolus excellens Barbados chocolate. I don't have only snails, my biggest pride is my cat Mowgli. When my stepfather give her to me, she was neglected and ill, but by now she's a little princess. She's a very, very beautiful cat and she's my everything.

Hi Loraine welcome to the forum. Are there any native snails and slugs around you?

Thnak you! Wreckoning: We have the normal European species here in the backyard: Black slugs (in other regions there are yellow and orange slugs), Cepaea hortensis (the brown and the yellow-black striped snails), Cornu Aspersum, Helix pomatia and a few kind of snails like glass snails (they are very tiny, and transparent). I've heard about tiger slugs, but I've never seen them. When it's not too dark and the snails and slugs crawling around, I will make some photo's of them.
