I cannot for the life of me find a nice aquarium for my snails, and am wondering if anyone has any online suggestions? I currently have a 5 gallon aquarium which is the perfect size, but the lid does not pop off, it slides open which makes it difficult to remove/add food when there are snails stuck to the top of it. It also has tiny gaps that are the perfect size for fruit flies to slip in and out. I like the size, but would love a screened lid that pops off with no gaps. Any suggestions?

Well, there should be a few gaps/holes for a bit of ventilation, so it's quite hard to completely avoid those sneaky fruit flies. They develop from egg to adult in two days (iirc!) so only very frequent food changes can stop them from totally populating the snail habitat. True though that sliding doors get tricky with snails. My tank has two and so far I've been able to always use either one, though it still takes a bit of patience. ETA: I completely forgot earlier that one way to stop fruit flies from coming in is to cover the gaps/holes with something that lets the air flow but stops the flies from fitting in. Sorry, the English name for such stuff escapes me right now, hopefully someone else can help. I forgot about it because I couldn't use it in my tank aesthetically, but maybe it'll help you or someone else.
