That's great, Zorst. He must have thought a long time how to make his poop that way! Ah, but hey! I remember now that I too have a snail poop story to tell. Back when I only had a couple Arianta, I took them along to a friend's place as I was to stay over for a couple nights. We placed the tank on a table, and some light came through the small top hatch (it had an otherwisely non-transparent lid), making a sort of spotlight in the tank. My lovely, very special fellow called Big Eyes (because he has the biggest eyeballs of all my small snails) snailed to the centre of the spotlight, and started pooping, looking very, very proud, with a good posture, and he took his sweet long time. He'd been eating black, red and white things. When he slimed away from the poop, it honestly was like a tiny painting that resembled a whale - black body, red open mouth, white eyes. It was so funny, but I didn't want to be caught with a snail poop photo in my camera. It was such a shame I had to clean it up. He made a super good first impression on my friend, too. I thought the story was a little bit too strange to share even here (I was a forum newbie at the time), and forgot about it, but now that Zorst's snail made the stripy poop, it came back to my mind.

One of the Margies did an interesting snail poop last night like I've never seen before, Instead of bands of colors this one looked like stripey toothpaste with the stripes running through it lengthways. My only conclusion can be that he ate the 3 foods together to get that effect. Zorst or... they've been at the toothpaste to confuse you on purpose. although...you just know its a new form of secret agent snail code... Was it in the colours of any flags? perhaps you have patriotic snails.

Yeah they were very patriotic colors green, white n orange the colors of the Irish flag, so def must be in secret undercover snail code lol. that n I recon they took a good long look at the toothpaste when they were having a bath in the sink the other day. Etana Big eye's def sound like an exhibitionist or an artist showing off his masterpiece lol Zorst

Goodness, toothpaste-like snail poop in Irish flag colours!! Oh man! I think Big Eyes indeed is kind of an exhibitionist. And an artist, too, he just rarely feels like painting!

If any non-snail keepers read this thread, they'd think we were all nuts! My snails are still small so they don't produce stripy poop yet The amount of poop they produce has increased massively over the last 2 weeks though, I'm struggling to keep on top of it!

I think they find us strange even without hearing/seeing our excited snail poop talk. Oh well, at least this is cheap fun. I've never seen stripy poop with my own eyes either. I remember having tiny little newborn baby snails and their tiny little poop that I could barely see, and then, weeks later, the first time that a baby from that batch was big enough, I could actually see his pooping face! You know how they look so serious?

Now one of my snails drew a poop heart on the tank wall, and he's sitting on it with his foot super spread out, like, "look! i did this!". Awwwwww, very sweet of him.

oddly enough i was thinking today that we should start a poo thread for pictures of artful poo and a full range of colourful poo (also useful for when people new to snails worry about the colour of the poo)
