Are you sure it wasn't just super wet poop? Or maybe he was peeing too and that's why all the wetness?
What had he been eating?

it could be a wet poo. When you say a bit like blood do you mean it was reddish? (snail blood isn't red) however the poo takes ont he olour of whatever they've been eating, so if it has had anything red to eat then the poo would be reddish.
What type of snail is it?
was the snail retracted when you picked him up and the fluid came out and have you not seen him move since? or was he out and about and still happily moving about?
How wet is the tank?
Did he retract in responce to you picking him up (sometimes they can bubble nd leak fluid if they are unhappy about being picked up, but usually it is clear-green)?

Helix pomatia, then. What is in your chook pellets? An ingredient list would be most helpful.

Are you happy about the redness now and asking about digestive problems from chicken pellets or saying that the two are related? if you still want to know about the reddish fluid can you answe the last three points in my previous post on this thread?
chicken pellet poo can look brownish red.
Are you feeding the chicken pellets soaked? (they need to be wet not dry)
