My amber snail, Schnell, recently became a mom Through self-fertilization I think, because she's been the only snail in the tank for awhile. It's exciting watching the babies grow, but...Schnell hasn't stopped laying eggs since! I've found 9(!!!) clutches of eggs over the past four days. This isn't normal, is it?

I think amber snails do lay a lot of eggs, i believe this is because they die shortly after i'm afraid (short natural lifespans) so they lay a lot of eggs quickly. I could be wrong however, and it could vary between the different species of amber snail.

Sadly my Amber snails did that too! Two died shortly after laying 10+ batches

Aw I see, thank you. Schnell seems to have stopped laying eggs for the time being and has so far been okay. But I'm going to spoil her rotten these next few days just in case!

is your snail still alive? Just wondering after I read this post. She is! She's not quite as hyperactive as she was before she started laying eggs, but she's been doing well
