I know this is a snail forum, but if you have a hermit crab or know a lot about them please reply....
So yesterday, my family adopted three baby hermit crabs in a 10 gallon tank complete with many decorations and hiding places for the crabs, along with fresh food, water, and lots of space to romp around in.
Anyway, I've done hours of research about hermit crabs.
I actually first showed interest in them on Saturday, and ended up adopting our crabs 2 days later.
Well, one of the baby crabs is mine, and two belong to my siblings.
It's a huge no-no for hermit crabs (and snails too) to be in contact with tap water, but for some reason, I totally forgot that today, and I thoroughly bathed each crab under the sink, both their bodies and their shells.
Please, will be they okay? I need to know! I'll make sure it doesn't happen again, I'll tell you that!

It's not terrible and it won't kill them, but its better to use bottled water or at least de-chlorinated water. I recall that they need a source of saltwater in the terrarium as well, and do appreciate a heater as well as a deep substrate to burrow in when they molt.

if you haven't found it already, I would highly recommend going to the hermit crab association website (HCA) and visit the forum, the people there will be glad to answer any questions you have, and there's a lot of detailed care guides that helped me when I first got my crabs too.
