Hello there, I just found what I think is a Cepaea nemoralis snail, but I can hardly see the markings on the shell... Please let me know if this is a Cepaea nemoralis. What do you think... If you have any ideas please let me know thank you! Have a nice day! ,cow

Not a Cepaea, looks like an Otala snail.

I agree. It's an Otala, probably Otala lactea.

Hi Cow,
the genus Otala is rather common in Spain, southern Portugal (O. lactea), northern Africa (in part) and some mediterranean islands. There are two species: Otala lactea and Otala punctata.
Kind regards: wolf

Is this a Otala lactea too? (This is different to the first one) It looks like a Otala lactea but the markings are more clear... Is this because he is older? im not too sure... ,cow

The second one is also an Otala. They can have some variety in shell pattern (I.e. stripes or no stripes/more white or more brown overall)

I agree with Pomatia; Otala snails have a pretty wide variation of patterns on their shells, so I suggest you compare their shell shapes instead. This actually is useful for most any other snails with wide pattern variations. Gorgeous snails, by the way~
