Hi friends, I'm new to the world of snail keeping, and I got my 5 snails just over a week ago. On Saturday I noticed one of my snails had a broken shell, it was split right down the middle in two. The shell remained on the snail, and to be honest, he didn't look to bothered about it. On Sunday night, I went to spray my snails and I saw the one with the broken shell mating! A quick Google search confirmed that they were indeed mating. Every night I feed my snails some lettuce and cucumber with some crushed egg shells for calcium. I was surprised when I woke up this morning to find a sort of white line along his shell, in esactly the position where he had the break. I gently rubbed my finger along his shell, and it didn't feel so weak anymore. It's marvellous how quickly they can repair the shells. I'm so pleased!
