I've been reading a lot in the breeding section and I felt a detailed thread describing different techniques and practices might be useful. So my question to everyone is how do you choose to breed your snails? Large colony or selective pairing? Hands off or incubating eggs separately? I just kinda want to know what the most popular practices are, and ways we can maximize the genetic and pet value of our snails.

Not sure if this will be much help but I pretty much use all of those methods. Mainly I do the "large colony" and let the eggs sit in the terrariums, but occasionally I separate certain snails to breed them together and keep the eggs in tupperware containers full of coconut coir.

Do you notice any difference in the strength, or quality of the snails?

Not with all of them, but I had a problem with my Helix aspersa becoming smaller after a few generations so I had to mix in some new genetics.

This is based on what I do for my tiger snails.
I basically have a pair of adults and leave them to breed. I remove eggs I find and incubate seperatly as the adults like to burrow and don't want them disturbing eggs. When the babies hatched I let them grow on a bit (1.5-2cm) by this time I can tell which are the runts and which won't be suitable for breeding/rehoming. These are used as feeder food.
The rest I then grow on to 3cm-5cm before selecting which ones I will be using for future breeding and rehoming the rest. This means that any offspring I sell will be of good quality. I am also looking into purchasing 1 or 2 more adult tigers which aren't related to mine to add new genetics x
