Hi guys, I've been saving eggshells for a while and ended up storing them in a big pan until I had enough for a batch. I'm assuming some of the calcium may have leeched from them into the water, so I'm wondering whether i could reuse the water to spray my snails?
I obviously don't want to cause them any harm but figured someone else may have a better idea. There is also a good chance that some of the eggshells have small bits of egg still. There was recently a baking competition at work so I managed to get around 50 eggshells all at once!
Would appreciate any advice, even if it's just to tell me I'm being stupid!
Thanks!

Don't spray the tank, otherwise the snails will be "forced" to take in calcium and they can develop stones in their gut and die. This happens because snails can absorb calcium through their foot.

You can also wash the egg shell in water then you can bake them in the oven when you are cooking. And can be stored that way before crushing them into small bits and they can take them him by you adding it to their feed.

This can cause the snail to ingest too much calcium and can lead to internal stones and death. Instead, a calcium source should be provided separately to the food inside the snail tank at all times for them to freely consume as they choose.

I threw it away anyhow just to be on the safe side. No sense taking any risk after all.
I do feed them crushed eggshells prepared pretty much exactly as was mentioned too, though I keep it separate from the food so that they can decide for themselves what they need.
