Hello everyone I came home today and most of my snail eggs have hatched. I have a few things I need opinions on - 1. Is this set up okay? With the hatchlings in a separate box but still with the parents 2. Is it usually for Snails to mate again so soon, because they are (yes one of my snails decided to go upside down as I was taking the photo) 3. What do you feed baby Snails? 4. When is the best time to release them and where? 5. Other tips for caring for babies! Thanks so much!

Hello monssnails! I don't have the answers to all of your questions but I'll do my best. 1. On my opinion it looks fine, though I suggest you add a small dish in your babies' box so that the food you give them doesn't make the substrate messy. 2. I don't know... I suppose it's normal, as the duration between the laying of eggs and their hatching is probably long enough for the parents to recover (At least it was for my Cepaea nemoralis). 3. You can feed them the same as parents, just make sure their food isn't too rough for them to eat. Same for the calcium source. 4. I read in your recent posts that you live in Australia.. I live in Canada so I have no idea about the current legislation there. 5. Don't worry if they don't eat in the first few days, as they need time to harden their shell, and of course be extremely careful when you take care of them, because they are so small an accident can easily happen. That's about it, I think...
