Hey everyone! My name is Kate, and I'm pretty new to the forum. I live in Ontario and was wondering if anyone else lives nearby? It'd be nice to get in touch with other snail enthusiasts in the area to talk about local species! HMU

I don't live in Ontario, but we're neighbors, since I'm in Quebec? I know English, though I'm a French speaker. Bienvenue! Do we have the same native species of snails in Ontario and Quebec?

Oh salut! Mon français n'est pas aussi bon qu'il devrait être I'm actually going to school in Quebec. I've not had much of a chance to look for snails there, but I know Mont Royal is full of grove snails. I bet we have many of the same species though!

Salut! Pas de problème, mon anglais pourrait être meilleur aussi! I know there are a few Cepaea Nemoralis in both provinces, but that's pretty much it. I only know Cepaea Nemoralis and Hortensis. I know other species names, such as GALS, er... There are more, but I forgot about them! Maybe you know more? I know there are a lot of snails in a small wood close to Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard (I used to swim there a lot). It's in Montreal, though.

There are two other species I see quite often which are Whitelip snails and flamed tigersnails. I have one of each of those, they're in the pic I posted! We also have tons of amber snails, but they seem to be everywhere these days. As for the smaller species, I haven't really taken the time to ID them.

Hello, I’m from Ontario too! I’m really looking to get into snailing but we don’t have many snails in my area and it’s winter now, so they’re all hibernating But I’m looking to track some down and I’d love to talk about snails!
