About 2 and 1/2 weeks ago my brown garden snail layed eggs. This past Wednesday a lot of them hatched but not all. Do I leave the eggs that are left alone and see if they hatch in a couple more weeks or does this mean that part of the clutch didnt make it? I'm so confused. This is my first time with snail babies. I just don't kno much about them. Can someone plz help me?

They may yet still hatch! I would give it a couple of days. You may also want to separate the babies into a smaller container so it is easier for them to find food!

As an addition to what tigersnail said, an egg clutch often doesn't hatch completely, some eggs are never viable to begin with. You can leave them alone for a while because the newly hatched baby snails may eat them. Baby snails are great! Just make sure there's no water deep enough for them to float in, as that's when they'll drown (extremely shallow water dishes are okay). They can eat everything that adult snails can eat, and they won't grow up fussy if you make sure that that they get to taste as many different types of foods as possible. Good luck!

Thank you both so very much. I did move all the babies to a smaller tank. They are doing good! There are 24. There were 27 but 3 didn't make it. I'm still waiting on the other half of the clutch. I will give it a week and a half and see what happens. By then the 4 weeks will be up. But I think 23 is good. I'm happy that they are happy. When my snail layed eggs 8 was shocked because it didn't mate. I only had that 1 snail. But I remember reading about possible fertilization and also how they can hold on to sperm and lay the eggs when the environment is right. Well I've only had my snail 7 months. My son found him outside and I decided to keep him. So he probably mated before I got him and was just holding on to the sperm till now lol. Either way, I wanted snail babies so it was a wonderful surprise! Thanks again.💙🐌💙

Ok, so it turns out the other half of the clutch didn't make it. Anyhow, I moved the live babies to a small tank. When can I move them back with the mom/dad snail? Does it matter?
