Do you bathe your snails? Why or why not? Is it important?
I've bathed mine once, and one really didn't seem to appreciate it. I've been thinking of just cleaning their shells with a cotton bud when they're dirty rather than putting their bodies in a small amount of water. Any reasons why that wouldn't be sufficient?

All I do with mine is just set em in a very shallow water dish and gently get the dirt/poo that’s stuck to their bodies off (mind you, very very gently, it’s easy to hurt a snail that way). If their shell gets dirty I just get it a little wet and gently wipe it off. I think that’s all is healthy and safe to do, I wouldn’t go any further then that.

When getting dirt/poo off their bodies be very very careful not to hurt them with your finger nail.

Also, you only really need to do it if they have dirt of something stuck to them.

I rinse my helix aspersa snails under the tap every time I feed them since I always see them trying to pick stuff off of their shells. They never bubble and always stretch out to make sure their foot and face gets cleaned off too. When I clean the tank, I leave them in a bowl with some shallow water so that they can soak if they want to. They will sit in there for as long as it’s available to them (and sometimes retract their eyes to nap while stretched out in the water).
My bulimulus snails don’t seem to enjoy water, so I don’t rinse or bathe them.
