I recently started keeping snails a few weeks ago, (Brown garden snails and grassland liptooths) and I started noticing these small worms. At first I assumed it was no big deal, that they would eventually die off as they did in another terrarium I had but they didn't. The worms are small and white, almost transparent and only about 1/4 of an inch long. They don't appear to be bothering the snails, only really eating and wedging themselves in the snail poop right before I clean it at night, but I can see them at the bottom of the soil in my terrarium. On top of that, I noticed mites. Small, maybe 1mm mites crawling around the tank. They don't appear to be on or interested in the snails, only around the wood and the food plate. The snails don't seem to be sick or quite care aside from getting in the way of their food at times. Any idea on what these pests might be? How do I handle this, should I bring in some type of bug to eat them or just clean out the tank and resoil it?
