First let me apologize for what might be a lengthy post.I bought two mystery snails that turned out to be a male and a female about a month-and-a-half ago from a very reputable aquatic store here in Roswell Georgia. I placed them in a Fluval 5 gallon tank heated with live plants. All in all they seem to be doing very well. At that time nothing else except some pest snails and varied worms were in that tank with my snails. The female proceeded to give me about 4 little egg clutches none of which appeared fertilized and none of which came to full hatching abilities now both my snails are acting very sick. The only time I've seen them come out of their shells and eat anything was when I put them in a little holding container with all types of food. Even then my male really did not show any evidence of being any better. I've told myself again and again after losing my first betta I would not add anything in a tank with inhabitants that were doing well to start with, but I fell back on that. I had such a horrid influx of different worms and pest snails that I was not being able to get rid of I went to PetSmart and bought three Cory catfish. That was the beginning of my two mystery snails starting to decline. The worm problem seems to be completely resolved as well as the pest snails, but I love mystery snails and want to start a colony where I can raise my own so I'm very sad that my two are not doing well. I went out and bought a 10 gallon tank at Petco dollar per gallon sale and I have everything ready to set it up. I want it to be for just the snails. I'm not sure how fast I can get my male and female mystery snail in that tank without cycling it first. I have Seachem Stability to put in it which I understand helps put beneficial bacteria immediately into the environment, but I would like help knowing if that is going to be sufficient within a few hours of being able to put my snails in the new tank.
Please help I don't want to lose my male and female mystery snails their names are Phoebe and Marty.
