Hi, I am new here, still trying to figure this out. I think I posted this in the wrong area earlier, it was under aquatic snails. I found this snail in a bag of parsley I brought home from the grocery store about a year ago. The parsley was from California, and I live in Michigan so I was worried it would be too cold out to release him. I'm pretty sure he's not aquatic, but some type of garden snail. I was hoping someone could tell me. He was pretty small when I first found him, now he is getting rather large. I joined here to learn tips on how to take care of him and keep him healthy. I never would have dreamed I would have so much fun having him as a "pet", I find him absolutely fascinating. thanks for all the insight here. I was also wondering if there is a way to attach pictures directly without linking to a host. Thanks

Wow!! Thank you Wolf!! Wonder how he got all the way here to Michigan. Do they like warm climates? Cornu aspersum live in several states in the US as an introduced species so he was probably born/hatched in California. However it appears that Cornu aspersum is a prohibited/restricted species in Michigan, so it would definitely be best for you to keep him for the rest of his life as it would be illegal to release him in your state. www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/Photos_of_Invasives_388943_7.pdf
