I had a Lissachatina Fulica albino for 4 years, and now, after some days his mantle pops up.. I don't know why. Sorry, if there was a thread about it, but I'm not good at understanding forum systems.
What has changed?
I was sowing a few marigold seeds (he was always good with these...), I've added some new coconut peat (like 10% new and 90% old mixed together), added a little pool (made with new plastic bowl which was scalded with boiling water) and added little more water because he has low humidity (temp. ~23°C).
What did he have?
Just a plastic pot, 2 coconut shells (since I had him), some adult and baby isopods and plastic lid for food.
Sometimes there are some gray clearances in the peat, but it doesn't look like a mold, especially that after watering it looks like a normal peat, and clearances only appears when the peat layer is dry. The humidity could only be higher in a few days after changing the terrarium, I added a lot of water to the peat to mix and wet it evenly, maybe the heating mat evaporated too much water and increased the humidity... I don't know.
I wasn't that familiar with snails before (since there are only few groups) and I gave him too much protein and others told me that he was getting a bit greyish just because of the excess protein, so after that I had extremely limited his protein and he was alive as always.
Now, the mantle swells terribly and runs out of the shell. When I touch a piece lightly, it hides back, but after a few minutes it comes out again.
People from my country tell me to do euthanasia because it's a fatal disease, but I want to try everything I can.
