*sings* Love is in the aaaair! Sam's been acting a bit odd over the last day or two, so when I found another batch of eggs (this time they were tiny weeny ones, half the size of his last lot) I realised why. And now he's at it with Cooper, really, has this snail got no respect? ;D I've resigned myself to the opinion that fulicas are dirty slappers. Cooper's a tart mind you, here he is posing... "Does my bum look big in this?" he says... Check out his new shell growth. This snail is growing for England, he's grown bigger than Gary already - I swear you could watch him growing!

Wow, I like the patterns on his shell. If only my fulica have patterns checked patterns lie that....not fair lol. I wonder how long it would take him to get to the same size as sam. (The bigger one right?)

Yep, Sam's the big fella, he's about 9cm at the moment. Cooper's been with us for a few weeks now, and was 5cm when I last measured him, whereas Gary (the biggest of our dimidiata babies) came to us before him - and is still only 4cm. Cooper is growing much faster than any of them. I say he's a fulica as that's what is most likely, as he was thought to be an albopicta, but he's much more fulica like so he's probably a cross or just a pretty fulica. Either way he's pretty special with his checked markings, shame he'll lose it all when he's older!
I've not had a fulica baby before (although Sam was young when we got him he must have been about 7-8cm then), so dont know whether it's normal for them to have such a short fat shell. He's not long and pointy like Sam.

I had a peep, but they're just red crosses for me, so cant see your piccies He's definitely fulica though, I'm just amazed at how pretty they can be when they're young (of course just as gorgeous when they're bigger - just different).

when i collected mine from somebodies house they had a 1foot by 20cm glass tank with two adult fulica at 10cm shell length each and 30-40 babies at 2cm shell length in there, it was terrible so i bought home 4 of them :-) at least they are thriving now and two of them will be going to a new home shortly :-)
