one of them died. all that happened is it fell over..and just died so i decided to make the other one's life much better. i put all the small snails into a big plant propagator (60cm length) and made it REALLY wet. then i went to IKEA (ahhh) and i got 2 branches of lucky bamboo and put them down. and i also had another idea. in the lid of the propagator is these slots for ventilation, and i stuck some cucumber inbetween them so they were poking down from the lid. and the snail started eating the cucumber!!! i was very pleased, i shall put more food in the slots in the lid from now on. Thats a good idea with the cucumber, I'll try something similar with my Lignus, though they are eating from the ground, they spend more time on the lid so Im sure they'd be happier eating up there.

I keep my Lignus in an extra-large size tank, similar to these Ive just pushed some cucumber through the holes on the lid, they're firmly in place and are hanging from the lid, hopefully they eat it ;D

Today, my Lignus arrived. Someone here received them for me, and put the box on my room. They came in real good conditions, in moss, and damp, with a piece of fruit . One of them is quite active, even at daytime, but I guess that they are more nocturnal in behaviour. Thanks Fatslug, you have a good mark and you are sincer and direct. Here I cant´find any tank like that. But I had to ask for a similar one from an acrylic factory, and they´ll build some for me. Mike: I´m really sorry. If I´ll have some hatchlings I´ll keep some for you.

Mine have eaten the leaves of the lucky-bamboo I bought from Ikea last Friday. They are still well and active and so I am thinking of buying one of those pot-plant-bamboos for them. Does anybody of you know if this plants are dangorous for them? Can I give it a try?

do any or your lignus interact with each other? mine never go near each other. they seem healthy and are eating well but I have NEVER saw them interact at all. maybe its just cause my margies are constantly climbing over each other that I expect this from the lignus too? Brian

I just found this picture of a young Lignus, and in the writing next to it, it said that they eat a fungus that grows on trees in Ivory coast.

edit: Oh, that just makes me think of offering them various kinds of mushrooms....

The first two eggs have hatched, (Nov. 7th). They were laid in transit from Africa, sometime between the 3rd and 6th of October. They have been incubated at 25C, in a moss peat/vermiculite mixture, which has been kept moist, with no free water. Now it's a matter of feeding them!

Hi guys!
I just wanted to hear if you have tried mulberry leaves and bramble. I think they might work and they do contain alot of nutrition.

I tried bramble previously and they nibbled a few leaves. Mine favour cucumber but will nibble at just about anything I put in for them.

I lost one of mine not long after recieval, similar to mike. But the other I moved into a planted tank with the C. Marg... choclate whorl snails. Ive been wondering why hes doing rather well, as I havent observed him eating from the food Ive placed for a long time now.
But I notice last night, hes been feasting on the moss which is growing on a log within the tank. Big thick green moss like you get on rotting wood? Making quite a meal of it. Could moss be one of thier natural food types? As hes really doing great on that diet alone it seems.
