Just wondering if Tigers are always that lay back. I mean during the feeding time, mine are always the lastest one to wake up. I usually pick their old food out first, clear all the mess, then spray my snails if they have not waken by then. The Tigers do not come out straight away, I have seen them putting out one tentacle and check, but they just go back to sleep. I feed them at around 11pm. I know they wake up during the night because of the eating marks on the food. Can anyone suggest what I can do to get these snails wake up at least 10 mintues before I go to bed, so I can at least know what they really look like? I do not usually go to bed until at least gone 2am, so they usually come out after 2am. Oh and my Tigers are CB one, not WC, so they are used to being handle etc. The tank that my Tigers in are pretty wet and humid. It is a glass fish tank type. They also have a heat mat, water bowl and they are on moss.

My tigers are acting similar. They are never fast anywhere and rarely slime around during the day. They are most active around 4 am (they are in my babies room, so I see them often on this time ). I think, that might be a tigers thing, huge and slow. They only come out at evening for their meal when I serve them turtlefood or snail-mix. Then they are faster then the suturalis.

4am, I am still fast asleep. I am usually up at around 5am (little one wakes up time), but I do not have time to check on them until at least 8am before work. Might set the alarm clock and see if I can catch them then. I do see their "legs" sticking out during the day though. So that is another sign that they are alive. ;D Might try the snail-mix (haven't tired the snail-mix on them yet.)tonight and see if they come out earlier. Thanks gabi.

Yes my tigers are the same, don't worry it is a tiger thing They hardly ever eat too, probably once a month, mine do anyway, the rest of the time they sleep, but they've done it for nearly a year now so i'm not worried, and they are growing very well :-)

I think mine eat a few times a week, but I don't see them touching the cuttlefish at all, and their shells are not growing much. I will try the snail mix tonight and see what's going to happen, just can't bear with thinking of loosing them.

My conclusion is yes definately lazy, thought they were ill the first time I encountered adults that hardly moved but having been raising a baby for the past two months I find even it seems to live life in slow motion, just seems to be how they are:0).

My adult WC tigers are very lazy, but my CB babies which are now 8-10cm (shell) are very active. They are kept the same, so I do think being acclimatised from birth has a lot to do with it. They eat a much larger range of food greedily. Also, they have 100% perfect shells and look in the best condition of all my snails. I was gonna sell a few because I didn't expect all 6 to survive judging by stories of tiger babies previously. But now I see them all doing so well, I think I'll keep them and find room somehow

Must admit, my Brixton Tigers (from this year) are not lazy. They are out whenever I picked them up, i.e including during day time, non feeding time. I am so impressed that they are so friendly despite being WC. The Tiger babies I got from Lottie and Nat (Anjie's Tigers eggs) are very active and growing extremely fast too. So I actually only have a couple of the lazy Tigers that I don't know what their faces look like. edit: forgot to mention, one of my Brixton Tigers escaped and slimied up to the bathroom ceiling during the day last week, it's due to hubby left the tank lid open.

My tiger from this year is the same. He's totally different to my margie from last year. The tiger isn't shy at all, comes out pretty quick and his shell is perfect compared to the margies!
And there I was expecting another lazy snail lol.
My cb babies from Anjie are a little slower at coming out, but are still very active. They're actually more active than my margie babies!
Hahaha @ escaped tiger. I gather it's ok?! Bet that gave hubby a shock rofl.

Hahaha @ escaped tiger. I gather it's ok?! Bet that gave hubby a shock rofl. Oh yes, he called me and felt so guilty about it as he could not find one of the Tigers anywhere. He must have a cotton wool brain as he did not look up the ceiling. Bet that Tiger has a good time while hubby turned the bathroom upside down to look for the Tiger. ;D
