How do I tell if mine are marginata? I just got them and they look just like my Fulica although I have been told they aredefinately margies. Is there anything that would tell me they are margies??

I'll try and do that now give me a tick.
I think they are about 3months old.
I got them off ebay from someone called woodicraft. They are probably a member on here. I'm sure they will be margies but I just wanted to check. I'm not even really bothered except I don't have any other margies and I really wanted some.

margies are larger, they had a blunt apex compared to the fulicas rather pointy apex

Yes that's where they're from but I mailed him/her and asked if they were fulica and was told definately Marginata. I'm not too concerned as i paid next to nowt for them but If they are fulica I would rather have known. they are lovely little things anyway and eating llike pigs so I'm happy either way.
So should I query it with the seller or just leave it I still have the reply where I was tild they were Margies???

I've pointed out to woodiecraft that he/she is selling fulica. they definatley told me via ebay message that these were Margies. As I said I'm not praticularly bothered but woodicraft's excuse is that they were told by who they got the snails off that they were margies. I suppose I've been duped but anyway they will just join my other fulica and live a happy life. At least they are healthy!!!!
I advised them to come on here and get some decent advice but they are probably a member anyway. If so then I'd be curious to know who it is.
I'm still looking for Margies, babies or older, so if any are about and ready to be re-homed then I'd be interested.
By the way I don't sell/re-home or otherwise dispose of my snails they are all to be kept as pets for my grandchildren who are absolutely besotted with them. I also have three of Sabines retis and they will go nowhere either.
