I know all about varied skin colour in fulicas but i thought i'd show you a pic of 2 of my fulica, see the one on the left, he is one i bred myself (what incantrix was going to have) and after seeing him alongside this one (right) i realised just how light his skin was, hes incredibly cute and has a shell like his mother, lol, who btw has just laid another batch, i might hatch a couple if they are fertile hes gawgus ;D

I spy baby smithiis on the left (am I right?)......related to mine?
It's funny you should mention skin colour, you should see my pale margie baby now - he darkened off, now he's going lighter (not albino though) again...very odd...

yep thats a baby smithii and an adult smithii ;D they were from Gabi, but i do also have some from Jayne you can see ones shell at the front of the second pic next to the reti :-)

it's such a relief to see this post!
in my continuing development of snail hypochondria i was worrying that Shuffle, my baby fulica, was beginning to look a bit white on her tail. so it's reassuring to know they can jut lighten and darken for the hell of it.
