Last night I had a bit of a panic. I've had baby, now named Shuffle, for eight days, and last night's the first time in a few days that I've been able to have some proper time with her.
I noticed that where her shell's grown since I got her there's what looks like a crack separating before and after living with me. Since living with me her shell's a lot darker, with less variation than her baby shell. Am I doing something wrong? I know Tigs used to give her liquid calcium whereas I just have lots of cuttle in the tank.
Am I not giving her a varied enough diet perhaps? I worried about that but since I got Isaac his shell's developed to look a lot better than before, then again, he's from the wild so any kind of pampering's an improvement.
Am I doing something wrong? please tell me so I can stop worrying about her. Erica, Isaac and Shuffle
ps. she's acting fine - exploring and eating and playing with Isaac.

Don´t worry Erica! I am sure you are doing nothing wrong. It´s usually so, that there is this "split" where the new shell-growth starts after arrival. Nobody can the snailies give the same conditions and food like in the old home. That´s not bad for the snailie and it doesn´t harm her at all. So you do always know, how much she is grown, since you got her. ;D Kind regards, Gabi

she'll be okay then? I was worried her shell might be too weak since with me - she's managed to scratch it as well so i'm getting over protective of her...

You're doing fine - the different shell growth will add to the character and the beauty of the snail's shell - it will grow at different rates throughout her life and you will find the older parts of her shell will fade and become more worn anyway.
